
Kathryn Ave Friday has been the principal of the school since its re-establishment in September 2017. She is of Trinidadian descent and lived in Canada for 26 years. While in Canada she attended University and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology specializing in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor of Education (Primary / Junior). Mrs. Friday is an experienced teacher who has been in the field of education for 33 years and has taught all primary grades except Grades 1 and 4. She also taught Special Education and English as a Second Language while living in Canada. She is a Math enthusiast and loves reading. Mrs. Friday has been a principal since 2002, first at Paradise Primary School Inc. and then at Lower Bay School Inc. She believes that the whole child must be developed so that each child can achieve his/her full potential. She places an emphasis on the use of manipulatives and other hands-on materials in the classroom to enhance learning and believes that students should be taught IT skills to prepare them for life in the 21st century.

Harriet Compton is our current Kindergarten teacher and has been teaching Kindergarten for the last six (6) years. Ms. Compton has had a very long teaching career and has taught for 43 years, most of which was spent at the Paget Farm Government School, where she taught for 33 years. She is an experienced, qualified teacher who has taught Kindergarten and Grade 1 for most of her years in teaching. She enjoys teaching the little ones as it keeps her young at heart.

Kennora James Campbell is our current Grade 1 teacher and has been teaching Grade 1 for the last two (2) years. Mrs. Campbell is a fairly new teacher who taught for one year each at the Paget Farm Government School and the Sunshine School for Special Needs, before coming to teach at our school. She enjoys gardening, sewing and baking and plans to become a qualified teacher. She lives by Maya Angelou’s words: “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do and liking how you do it.”

Janice Mitchell is our current Grade 2 teacher and has been teaching Grade 2 for the last six (6) years. Mrs. Mitchell has had a very long teaching career and has taught for 52 years, most of which was spent at the Bequia Anglican Primary School, where she taught for 34 years. She is an experienced, qualified teacher who has taught in the lower primary grades for most of her years in teaching. She is our current literacy coordinator and is the reading specialist at our school. Mrs. Mitchell has four children with teaching experience, 2 of which are currently still in teaching. Teaching students in the lower grades keeps her on her toes.

Eslyn Ragguette is our current Grade 3 teacher. Ms. Ragguette has 18 years teaching experience. She has taught for 7 years each at Glen’s Preschool and at Paradise Primary School and was our Grade 1 teacher for 4 years. She is currently in the process of becoming a qualified Early Childhood Education teacher and eventually would like to be a Special Education teacher. She has a great love for Science and enjoys hiking and relaxing at home. Her teaching philosophy is guided by the following words of Benjamin Franklin: “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.”

Allan Leach is our current Grade 4 teacher and has been teaching Grade 4 for the last four (4) years. He is currently pursuing an associate degree in Primary Education and wants to become a Special Education teacher specializing in dyslexia and autism. He has a great love for Mathematics and enjoys singing and drama. Mr. Leach believes the following words of Phil Collins applies to all of us: “In learning you will teach and in teaching you will learn.”

Annette Mckree is our current Grade 5 teacher and has been teaching Grade 5 for the last six (6) years. She has been in the field of education for the last 44 years having held the positions of qualified assistant teacher, senior qualified assistant teacher, graduate teacher as well as a principal within the education system in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Ms. Mckree has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education Administration with Honours and a Certificate in Pastoral Care. She has spent most of her teaching career at the Bequia Anglican Primary School where she taught for 32 years. Ms. Mckree attends church faithfully and enjoys singing and drama.

Lydia Ollivierre is one of our current Grade 6 teachers (Mathematics and Language Arts) and she also teaches Mathematics in Grade 5. She also held this position last year. She has been in the field of education for the last 28 years and has taught all primary grades except Grade 3. Ms. Ollivierre is an active member of the community in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, especially Bequia. She has served on the boards of several associations / councils and was a member of Interact and Rotaract Clubs in Bequia. She is very involved in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Bequia and currently serves as the secretary of the Parish Church Council and is a member of the Women’s Association.

Trish Ollivierre is one of our current Grade 6 teachers (Science, Social Studies, HFLE and Composition/ Book Report) and she also teaches Composition in Grade 5. She is a certified teacher and has been in the field of education for the last 9 years, with experience teaching Grades 1, 2, 5 and 6. She has a great love for teaching Science and enjoys listening to all genres of music, cooking and baking. In the future she wants to become specialized in teaching English Language. Ms. Ollivierre believes the following words of Anthony Frasier in his book Don’t Dumb Down Your Greatness: that “the journey of regrowth requires discomfort”.

Devvy King Ollivierre has been teaching at the school since it’s re-establishment in September 2017. She is currently on a leave of absence for one year but will be returning in September 2024, at which time she will resume teaching Grade 6 (Social Studies, Science, HFLE and Composition / Book Report) as well as Composition in Grade 5. She is an experienced teacher who has been in the field of education for 26 years and has taught all primary grades except Kindergarten. She enjoys teaching Composition and Science and is an avid gardener. Mrs. King Ollivierre believes the following words of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk should be a guide to all teachers: “A good teacher is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others.”

Ebony Arrindell is currently the administrative assistant and relief teacher, and has held this position for the last five (5) years. Her excellent IT skills has made her an invaluable assistant to the principal. Ms. Arrindell also belongs to many school committees and she is one of the main organizers for various school events. She is conscientious, a quick learner, completes tasks in a timely manner and is always willing to learn new skills. She loves accounting, listening to music and going to the beach. Her life philosophy is guided by the following words of Michelle Obama: “Instead of letting your hardships or failures discourage or exhaust you, let them inspire you. Let them make you even hungrier to succeed.”
